a few thoughts about dog daycare in general and dog daycare at The
Crate Escape in particular.
About Our Assessment Process
Dog daycare has proven to be a natural and healthy outlet for a
dog’s energy
and playful spirit, but it’s not for every dog. Older dogs may have
trouble adjusting
to enthusiastic, romping puppies. Very shy dogs or dogs with
separation anxiety
may feel overwhelmed, and un-socialized, aggressive dogs simply
can’t be trusted
to interact safely in this type of environment. It’s for these
reasons that we conduct
a thorough half-day assessment of all potential attendees.
The assessment begins with a careful and gradual introduction of the
dog to
their prospective playgroup. If a dog can’t get comfortable with the
group or the daycare setting, we discuss alternative options with their owner.
Individualized Care For Your Dog
Everything about the way we are structured and the way we operate is
designed
to give your dog the most individualized and personal care possible.
Each dog
is treated with kindness, patience and compassion to ensure that
they have a
positive and fun daycare/boarding experience.
Unlike some facilities, The Crate Escape, Inc. does not “day-board”
dogs, nor are dogs ever crated. After a full morning of play, the
dogs are naturally tired and will nap and rest on their own mid-day.
During this time we limit distractions and play soothing music.
It's All About Your Dog
At The Crate Escape, Inc., it truly is all about your dog. We believe and operate
on the philosophy that all dogs are individuals with their own
distinct personality which is one reason why created our
own version of a "Bill of Rights" that guides our care-giving philosophy
(see below).

Every dog is entitled to:

A personal greeting to let them know mom or dad are away &
they have a care-giver for the day.

A trained adult care-giver that knows your dog, his or her habits, preferences
& socialization level.

Easy access to fresh, clean water, toys, the out-of-doors and help.
●
A time for safe play with peers.
●
A time to rest without distraction.
●
A stable routine of care and constant watchfulness.
●
A clean and sanitized environment.
●
Vaccinated and vetted peers.
Crate
Escape Checklist
●
To reduce stress and ensure dog safety, tours are scheduled by
appointment only.
●
Bring your completed
Enrollment Form
& records with you or fax them
prior to your appointment.
●
Assessment will be cancelled without
completed forms.
●
Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered.
●
Dogs must pass a pre-enrollment behavior and socialization
assessment.
● Dogs must be well-socialized;
not protective of toys or space.
● Dogs should be neither aggressive or pathologically
passive.
●
Dogs must wear a non-choke collar and all applicable tags including
a name tag.
● Vaccinations must be
current, including a negative fecal within the last year.
●
Dogs must be on a flea/tick control and heartworm preventative.
●
Dogs must be kept on a leash during drop off & pick up
(non-retractable leashes preferred).
Escape
Rates For Daycare
(Effective 01/02/2008)
Daily
Escape Rate - $31.00 - This rate applies to all customers who
use our services once a week or less.
4 Day Escape Package - $124.00
10% discount for second dog, 15% discount for third dog applies to
the above daily rate.
Package
Escape Rates
For customers who use our services on a more regular basis,
twice a week or more, and for customers with multiple dog families
the following packages are available:
20 Day Escape package - $480 ($24 per day)
10 Day Escape package - $270 ($27 per day)
8 Day Escape package - $220 ($27.50 per day)
Pre-paid packages are not refundable.
Half Day
Escape Rate: 5 hours - $25 - This rate applies to all
customers who use our services once a week or less.
Escape package of 4 half days - $100
10% discount for second dog and 15% discount for third dog applies
to the above rate.
For customers who use our services on a more regular basis, twice a
week or more, and for customers with multiple dog families the
following 1/2 day packages are available:
Escape package of 8 half days - $168 ($21 per half
day)
Escape package of 4 half days - $ 88 ($22 per
half day)
Boarding
Rates
Overnight Escape Rates:
The following rate applies to regular daycare customers.
Escape night - $40 (includes daycare) 10% discount for second
dog, 15% discount for third dog applies to the above daily rate.
The following rate applies to board-only customers: (required to
pass daycare assessment)
Escape night - $45 (includes daycare) 10% discount for second
dog and 15% discount for third dog applies to the above daily rate.
Holiday
Rates:
An additional $5 per holiday night applies to all boarding
rates.
Hours of
Escape
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
No Saturday daycare (at this time)
Late Pickup & Cancellation Policy
Late pickup fee: $10 for each 15 minute increment
Full or half day rates apply for appointments missed without 24 hour
minimum notice
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the limited number of boarding spaces
available, The Crate Escape maintains a strict cancellation policy
as there may be clients on a wait list. For holidays or high volume
periods such as Spring Break, we require cancellations to be made
ONE WEEK in advance. Boarding clients that do not cancel within that
period or do not show will be charged a fee equal to one-half of the
original reservation.
Holidays
Daycare closed, holiday rates and cancellation policies apply.
An additional charge of $5 per dog per day will apply to the rates above
for the following holidays:
New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and
the following day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day.
